Transparent Marble Run (48 pieces plus 16 marbles) Reviews :
We looked at a number of marble run toys and decided on this one based on other reviews and thought it appeared to be the best value. It was a huge hit with our 3-year-old. He is not able to build one by himself yet, but that is coming and is great because he will enjoy it even more as time goes by and he can do this. We love it because it does not require batteries and encourages creativity, and we should get years of use out of it since there are so many different configurations you can do with it. He also got a remote controlled car and he loves this just as much.

Reviews :
My 5-year-old son saw a very expensive marble race toy in a catalog and asked for it for Christmas. After reading a lot of negative and conflicting reviews on-line about many different marble race toys, I was hesitant about making this purchase, but I finally decided on the transparent marble run. It was about half the price of some others I saw advertised, and not as many pieces. It has turned out to be a great toy and has far exceeded my expectations! My son really loves it! The pieces are colorful and sturdy, and they fit together nicely. I actually have two other younger children, ages 4 & 2 1/2 who also enjoy dropping the marbles into the tubes and watching them roll & spin downward through the interesting pathways. There are plenty of marbles that come with the toy, so there isn't any fighting over them. They love to try to get all of the marble run toys. rolling through it at the same time, and there is just something fascinating and exciting about it, even for the grown-ups! The little ones do need some assistance to put a good run together, but it is very educational for them to try to construct something on their own and see if it works. Another plus -- so far there are no broken or lost pieces even after a number of hours of play time!

Reviews :
This is a great marble run toys. for helping children develop an understanding of causality. How fast will the marbles go through a tall vertical run? a long diagonal run? etc. The transparency of the tubes also lets the child view the marbles speeding down their path. Our creative four-year-old grandson also delights in connecting the tubes to create other toys (e.g. a telescope) or whatever his imagination dictates. We look forward to our "Skype" sessions when he shows us what he has created or discovered. What a great toy!

We purchased this as a christmas gift for our 4 year old son. He loved it. It takes a little parental help and creativity, but it's great fun for everyone once it's put up. This is one of those toys you can enjoy many times over with all the different combinations. Sure it takes time on your part as a parent, but we need more time with our kids, not less. This is a great way to spend time together

Quercetti Marble Run with Motorized Elevator, 177 Pieces Reviews :
I bought it for my kids and they love it. They played with it for hours. Easy to build and easy instructions. Would definetly buy it again and may even buy a second one.

We had a simpler and earlier Quercetti Marble Run Toys. This was an upgrade/add-on, and well worth it. The motorized elevator keeps the action going. A five year old will need help setting up, but can operate the final run easily. Safe pieces, easy construction and good directions. Fun, even for the adults.

Reviews :
My 6-year-old received this Marble Run as a gift from her uncle. I'm amazed at how easy it was to assemble and at how well the elevator works. It's mesmerizing to watch and my 3-year-old is also getting a kick out of it; she keeps shouting "They're going to the fair!" (referring to the marbles who look like they are getting on a ferris wheel). It's refreshing, too, to see a well-made plastic toy these days - the parts are solid and fit together easily. The product is made in Italy - and it shows

Reviews :
We all enjoy the Marble Run, adults and children alike. My six year old daughter is fascinated by it. I have to help her build it. It takes about 30 to 60 minutes to put a big run together. The instructions are only a photograph, no words. These instructions just show ideas of what you can do because you really can build any configuration you want to. I can't imagine the run without the elevator as it keeps the marbles in continuous motion, which becomes mesmerizing. The pieces fit together well. When constructed it is a little shaky and not as sturdy as I thought it would be so I would not recommend it for kids under 4 (small parts, too). Also, I thought 180 pieces would be a lot, but it's not. It might be fun to get another set and build on!

This is one of those Marble Run Toys that the kids of all ages gravitate to when they walk in your house. My 6 and 4 year olds LOVE this toy. It runs very quietly so you need to make sure it is in a place you can hear it in case the kids forget to turn it off.
We have only assembled it like the box but there were a few extra pieces to reconfigure it.

Galt Super Marble Run Reviews :
This was purchased as a birthday gift for my 3 year old grandson. It is a huge hit! He initially needed help for the consrtuction, but has learned how to build a structure himself. Good lessons in cause and effect, planning and physics are learned when building.
The delight in this toy has not lessened - the thrill of the noise and the Marble Runs Toys brings smiles to him and his younger sister - and his dad!
I am a bit concerned about the longevity of the pieces. The "necks" on the pieces that hold them together may prove to be the weak link. But the hours spent running the marbles will ,hopefully, be many
One issue - the Marble Run seem to be smaller than some available on the market. We had some marbles that were too large to run the race!
Great toy!

Reviews :
My kids (ages 3 & 5) got one of these sets as a gift. They didn't seem to have enough pieces to make the Marble Runs Toys as big as they wanted, so we purchased two more sets as add-ons. They will play with them for hours! Great educational toy promoting creativing and problem solving skills.

This marble toy has been my son's favorite (he's almost 3) toy for over a year (adult supervision is required for children under 3 since the marbles could be a choking hazard). It is a simple design, well made pieces that easily fit together to make many different structures with lots of fun for all ages. We got ours on sale for under $20, but if I couldn't find it on sale, I would definitely consider this toy a worthwhile purchase. It has saved us on many rainy days when my son wanted to play "ball" outside - he barely remembers it's dreary outside once we pull out the Marble Run! It also works well for speech therapy drills - they have one just like it at his speech therapist's office.

Reviews :
I chose this toy for our grand children first of all. I set it up with ease following simple direction enclosed. It took me very little time to complete the set and I finally was able to play with it... myself. Well I am a poor grandpa because I was so enthralled with the action that I left it set up in my den and bought another for the grand kids to take home. It is very durable, should be set on a sturdy surface, no carpet. The simple snap together sections worked well. The only drawback is the "not so perfect fit we of the straight pieces to the curved but that is of little consequence when we all enjoy the hours of wonderful fun together as a family. I highly recommend this and the other Galt Marble Runs to all.

Blocks & Marbles Super Set Reviews:
This is one of those toys that we will keep to pass down to others in the family. Very durable and endless entertainment. The wooden blocks are very good quality.
We purchased this set for our 7 year old grandson. It is his favorite toy! It is well made and should last for many years to come. It is portable and can be easily taken when they go somewhere, because of the bag that comes with it. With all the electronics out there right now, it is nice to find a toy that allows the children to use their imagination and think without some kind of hint on a screen.

Reviews :
Excellent toy! Lots of ways to use creativity and problem solving skills while having fun! Durable, lasting, educational toy. Our 7 year old loves it Marble Runs Toys
I wish I had had a set when I was a child! My ten year old son had been building his own, crude rendition of marble towers and tracks out of the cardboard boxes from our recent move. When I spotted this in a homeschooling supplies store, I knew it would be a hit. I'm ordering the super set here, because the prices are MUCH more reasonable than in the store. LOVE this 'toy'

Reviews :
I had a Marble Runs Toys like this when I was growing up. Actually, my brother and I had to share it. We spent hours devising routes and then knocking down the structure. You can do that with blocks, without breaking them. The noise made by the marbles and falling blocks will not have your best friend wishing you dead. In fact they will whisper how they stayed up past the kids' bedtime to play with the marbles themselves. This is one of those games that you can give to a 5-yr-old and they will still be playing (once in a while) when they are 15. Quality: very smooth sanding, different colored woods, no splinters, no splits in the pieces. And 15 marbles in the package, which is useful if they roll under things. This will not be a garage sale item in a year.

Marble Race Deluxe [Toy]

* Ages 3 and up
* Marbles have to manuever through obstacles like the "wave!"
* Around and around until marbles drop through the clear plastic tubes
Create your own maze and watch as the marbles race through the track! Contains over 100 pieces, including 20 marbles.

Marble Race Deluxe [Toy]Reviews :
My 3 year old got this for Christmas...and hasn't stopped playing with it since!
It's been over a month, and he still drags the box out every day, dumps it out, and creates a new masterpiece of an obstacle course for the marbles. Seriously... it's a cliche, but this is hours of fun.
The variations are endless, and although the instructions included are a little confusing to figure out at first (I wish the instructions were color-coded, but no big deal), you learn to get creative and make your own Marble Runs Toys. It's easy for little hands to put together, and fascinating to watch as the marble goes through the maze your child creates.
As for the price, I was able to find this toy at Toys R Us for $19.99. Don't know why it's so expensive here.
Anyway, great toy--the whole family loves it!

Reviews :
I have actually had the privilege of seeing other marble tower-building sets similar to this one in action. These include less expensive and the more pricey ones that come from a catalog and/or toy party. Marble Race is the BEST! The key factor being that the bases are much wider and thus more stable than competitors. And the pieces stay connected. We've built Marble Race towers up 4ft and they do a very good job of not tipping over or dissembling. The pieces are easy to connect and disconnect--even my 2.5 y.o. could do it no problem. The box and contents are light enough that he can manage without help. We've had our set for over 2 yrs and it's still a favorite. The plastic it's constructed from is slightly bendable--not hard plastic that will easily crack. Even the Marble Runs Toys are all plastic (the silver coating has not come off either!) It's a great toy to facilitate problem-solving, fine-motor skills, and balance, not to mention following directions, colors, shapes, etc. We like to build a marble race near our train set so the trains can pick up and deliver loads of marbles. Try it outside and pour water through it! I just wish Imaginarium offered other pieces to add on to this set, maybe some inspired by the 'mouse trap' game. You won't be sorry with this toy!

Reviews :
I love this marble run. Compared to other marble runs made out of wood, this set allows my 5 year old to create projects on her own. Some others are too complex for her age. Our whole family can sink 30-40 minutes at a time creating a new marble run. We'll give it a break and then come back for more! I think this is a great indoor activity, good for cause and effect learning.

This Marble Runs Toysis remarkably fun, and allows children to use their imaginations building. My 3 y.o is having a blast. I only paid in the 25$ at my local toys r us, not the 49 amazon is asking, thus the play value is very worth it. I would recommend buying this toy, but keep in mind there is no bag that comes with the 100 parts it boasts proudly on the box. I love all the twists and turns, the parts really make this toy fun to watch the marbles race down the masterpiece. Small issue but not a big deal is the small wheel can get stuck, but there is the option to take it off. I think I'm having as much fun as my son. I plan on buying better marbles, as it comes w/ only cheap little plastic ones. Def recommend this.

Edushape Rollipop Advanced Ball Drop Set Reviews :
This Marble Runs product is not a marble run like the many others you see on amazon.com. This product serves the purposes of developing logical thinking, coordination, and lateral gaze development and stabilization.
I bought this exact same toy for my oldest grandson five years ago. When another grandchild turned one (this one is a cousin to the first one), I decided that the toy provided so much fun and entertainment to the older child, that it was the perfect gift for the younger child. It is well made, keeps the child's attention and provides lots of time for interaction between child and adult. As the child grows, he/she can put it together by himself, and an adult isn't needed to work it. I do recommend this toy for kids of all ages under four.

Reviews :
This Marble Runs Toys item was purchased for my granddaughter because she is enthralled with balls at this point in her young life (20 months).
The package arrived in just a few days and she spent 45 minutes straight playing with it. That is a long time for a toddler to stay with one activity! After that she played with the box. :)
Lots to learn about size, shape, gravity and motion. I recommend this ball drop set if you are trying to entertain and encourage a toddler.

Reviews :
My son got this for Christmas when he was 14mths old. At that time he was a little frustrated with the instability of the Marble Runs toy itself. He would break the ramps while playing and could not fix it - but by around 1 1/2 it became an absolute favorite and now that he is 3 there is still not a day that I don't hear the familiar sounds of this ball drop.

Frigits Original Reviews :
My kids got this Marble Runs  for Christmas, and it's been a huge hit - with the kids, with my husband, and with visitors of all ages. Even a young child can create a fun simple maze, and older kids (even the adult kids ;-) can make incredible twists and turns. The pieces seem to be sturdy, as they've been dropped on our floor many times with no breaks. Works with any marbles, which is nice when the original marbles roll under the stove or get batted away by the cats. It teaches about gravity, planning and executing, making contingency plans, refining... and it's incredibly fun. Highly recommended.

Review :
I bought a set for my 6 years old son for the X'mas. He loves the set, and even want to get one for his best friend's birthday! His older cousins also enjoy the set and play with it when they are visiting. Even my 3 years old daughter turn out playing with her big brother to figure out different configurations.
As long as you have a room on your fridge or a magnetic surface, it's always there, and the best thing is it is off the ground! (although you do have to look for the marbles on the floor...)
I end up buy few more set as birthday gift!

Reviews :
I got this Marble Runs toy for my boys (ages 10 and 14) for Christmas when they were 4 and 8 years old. Over the years, I've put it up on the fridge many times. I recently redecorated my kitchen, so it's been put away for almost a year. I brought it out last week, and it's like it was a new toy again! Everyone that comes through our kitchen plays with it - young and old alike. So here I go again, ordering another for a nephew's birthday present...

I have two sets of Frigits in my elementary classroom. Occasionally I have to put it away because the students fight over who gets to play with it!

Educo Switchback Racetrack Reviews :
I ordered this wooden switchback racetrack from Amazon when my granddaughter suggested it as a birthday present for her two year old son. It was the one toy at his day care that the children had a hard time sharing. There were a few little voices saying "mine" so it was a good time to teach them to share. Now he has his very own racetrack at home and I'm sure he will spend a lot of his play time with his track learning all about "wheels" without interuption. I would recommend this toy for any new parents who live in an apartment of have a small play area. It is a small-size toy that gives big-time fun, and is one of the ideal toys to pass down to future sibblings, or even maybe share with his best friend. It is definitely a keeper and will give many children of varying ages a lot of safe, fun, playtime.

Reviews :
the kids love this and I must say its adictive to play with... my son and I raced our cars for some time before we got bored of it...
VERY well made its a nice addition and will last

This toy is great. It is intuitively simple for kids to play. Though purchased for a 2 year old, the older kids had fun showing him how to use it. It is ready to go right out of the box and a is a very high quality product. Amazon had the best price making it affordable.

Review :
What a great, fun educational toy. I purchased this toy for my, now 16 month old son. Not a cheap toy by any means, but well worth it. Prior to making my final decision, I researched similar toys in its class. What sold me, by far was the double track layout and the overall size(height). I felt I was getting more bang for my buck by purchasing the EDUCO product. The product comes in a very durable, colorful and descriptive box. The box even has a handle for easy transport. The item comes completely assembled! Just line the cars up on the track and let go. It's as simple as that. From first sight my son has really enjoyed racing the cars "down" the track.
The item is very sturdy and well built. My only complaint or surprise was the fact that the cars tend to and do "run off" the track occasionally. At first, it may seem like an annoyance, but after awhile, it makes the toy more fun and competitive. I have as much fun OR more vs my son playing with the toy. Highly recommended.

Make zany marble run structures with this 55-piece kit, and then let your marbles loose. Build huge structures filled with ramps, tunnels, pinwheels and more, then race the marbles. Adult supervision is recommended. Measures 36"W x 31"H when assembled.

55-Piece Marble Run Reviews :
Loved the colors, so I picked this set over others. Marbles are wimpy, but travel through run easily. I enjoy it more than my kids, but they are a bit young- 4 & 2. They can't really do it by themselves. But I don't mind playing with them!

My grandson, just under three years old, has learned to put the pieces together to form a working marble run and everyone else in the family, young and old, have tried their hand at it. Great fun.

An intriguing Marble Run toy to say the least, of course, like anything with a lot of pieces can be a little wearing on the parent at times but it is very fun and it doesn't use batteries!!

Tomy Gearation Refrigerator Magnets Reviews :
This was a gift for my 4 year old son. He and his 8 year old brother both enjoy playing with it. It keeps the 4 year old entertained while I'm cooking and it's addictive...the boys and their dad all flip the on switch anytime they pass by the refrigerator. I plan on ordering some of the other refrigerator toys made by this company. It would also be great for teachers to use on a filing cabinet or other metal object.

Reviews :
The gears help stimulate creativity with their varying colors and patterns. It's mesmerizing to watch them when they're connected together, and fun to change the patterns. My kids love them.

This is a nice Marble Runs toy all my kids ages 1-11 enjoy it. It is a nice starter set-well I hope other gears will work with this. I gave it 4 stars on fun because it only come with 6 gears-so you can only do so much, but with the electronic gear motor it is worth it. You can use it on any metal object we use it on our door.

Reviews :
Loved it! I gave it to my 15 month old grand daughter and her Dad loves the toy as much as she does. She isn't able to turn it on yet but she still enjoys playing with the gears and motion of the gears when someone turns it on for her. She has dropped the separate pieces on the floor several times, but it is sturdy and still works.

perfect gear toy.Marble Runs Toys. my 2-year-old son loves it and learned quickly how to turn it on and off.

Hot Wheels 4 Lane Raceway Reviews :
I was looking for a toy my three grandsons (9,6 & 3) could play with together when they came to visit. They all love cars, so I picked this up in a store just as something to keep at my house. They all loved it. It went together so easily, and doesn't break, even when it gets toppled over. Best of all it packs up in minutes and can be put away in a limited amount of space. I am now purchasing one for my twin grandsons, who live quite a distance away, but enjoyed it also during a recent visit. Most race track toys have room for only one car at a time, which causes problems, but because this track has room for 4 cars, they all get to enjoy it and compete for the title of "fastest" car. I love it.

Reviews :
The product is really good. Well packaged and delivered on time. I purchased online for the first time and it feels like a good experience. This has good educational value as well. This toy can be useful to teach things like present and past tense, supposition, some simple physics stuff like how weight of the car impacts its performance in the race, etc. It is well designed and can be folded into a small piece. I was a little surprised when I saw the length of the freeway. It certainly is big enough and bigger than I imagined by looking at the images of the product. It is light weight and looks durable.

Reviews :
Wanted to start my daughter with a simple Hot Wheels track that didn't require batteries. This is perfect because it also folds away neatly and is very easy to set up.
Flags at the end are an amazing feature and so is the easy to use start. Love it. Both of us have used it for many hours without failure.
Now we look at adding to the end of it and buying more Hot Wheels to race.

Perplexus Maze Game by PlaSmart, Inc.

Perplexus Maze Game by PlaSmart, Inc.

* A maze game where players must maneuver a small marble around challenging barriers inside a transparent sphere
* Provides a three dimensional experience
* Shift, flip, and twist the sphere to guide the marble
* Entertaining, educational, and great for fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination
* No set-up, clean-up or batteries

Perplexus is a maze game where players must maneuver a small marble around challenging barriers inside a transparent sphere. Unlike traditional flat-surface mazes that are composed of one path, Perplexus houses various exhilarating tracks with 100 barriers and provides a three dimensional experience. Players select which track they would like to attempt, and then must work with gravity and carefully shift, flip, and twist the sphere to guide the marble. Players can race each other or the clock. On top of being entertaining, Perplexus is also an educational toy, and assists in child development. It is a great toy for children to exercise their motor and dexterity skills, as well as improve their hand-eye coordination. Its small size makes it easily portable. No batteries required. Ages 6 and above.

Perplexus Maze Game by PlaSmart, Inc. Reviews :
This toy has been a hit in our home. We got one for Christmas and I know someone has picked it up at least once every day since. I grew up playing a maze game with a great big wood box. I believe the name of that game was Labyrinth. Playing Perplexus brought back many fun memories when I was younger so I had to bring it to my family's Christmas party (we have it after Christmas). It was a hit with everybody of all ages. My siblings loved it. There was a Wii and another sphere-like game, but the Perplexus was played more frequent.

I've read critisms that the numbers are difficult to read. I believe this was the one of the fun things about it as my son (15 year old) and I would problem solve and figure it out. Bonding moments with the son!! Both him and I have completed the maze but I find myself still trying it everyday to see if I can complete it all the way through without having the ball fall. My four year old child plays with it but he has difficulty getting past the first level.

Reviews :
This is an amazing feat in engineering! It is easy at times and very difficult at others. There are multiple starting points so that you don't have to start at #1 and keep making the same mistakes over and over. Turning the maze while your little ball is precariously balanced takes practice and patience.

It is a lot of fun and is not a toy that is "done with" in an hour. My kids will go back to it over and over. After completing the maze you can race to beat a time or see if you can get through with no falls, etc.

We took this to a family holiday party and it was the hit of both children and adults.

It seems to be well made but since I haven't been able to get through the whole maze yet, I'm not sure if there are any hiccups in the process.

Reviews :
This was an impulse purchase the week before Christmas, but I'm so glad I made it! This was the most talked about toy under the tree this year. Every member of the family has been drawn to it. And my 7 year old, who normally does not concentrate on anything for too long, has played with it for hours on end. I highly recommend this toy.

I bought this for my 6yr old grandson and he loves it and so do we. We take turns. It is a great tool to help with eye & hand coordination. Would definately recommend.

Gears! Gears! Gears! Super Set - 150-Piece Set Reviews :
This set of "gears" is really neat. There are lots of pieces, very nice bright colors, and countless configurations. I really like that the set didn't include patterns to follow or directions--it just told you how to make flat gears, upright, etc. My oldest child is 3--his main fascination right now is how everything moves together. He yells at me to come see the "machine" he has made. I think it will stay interesting to him for several years.

This is a great Marble Runs Toys, with lots of fun for the younger children as well. Our Grandson is 4 and he loves it, it is also lots of fun to play and create with him as he experiments with different configurations. Highly recommend the toy and the price on Amazon was much better than anywhere else we looked.

Our kids love it but just having this set seems too repetitive for them so they stopped playing with it after a few days. I'm thinking of getting a different set to get them interested again.

This gears game is not only colorful and lots of fun, it offers great fine motor skill practice. My son is 5 and he enjoys building and creating with it though he does like some guidance with figuring out the 3 dimensional aspects of building a really large structure out of this. I think Marble Runs Toys for a child who is younger, the parts would get lost and scattered all over the house really easily. I think it's better for age 4+ as a table game that you get out and not a game that you keep down on the floor all the time. And when you keep it up and just get it down occasionally, it seems more exciting to the kids too!

Haba Ball Track Construction Set Reviews :
Bought this for my girl on her 3rd birthday. Both her and her big brother (5) love the toy. Possibilities are endless, from very simple designs to the very elaborate. In fact, my husband is having just as much fun creating very complex and creative designs, with the addition of some other accessories. This toy enthralls them all for hours. Beautiful, sturdy, educational, quiet. Highly recommended. A toy that will grow with my kids. All you can wish for a toy.

The construction set allows a multitude of different paths the marble can roll with the interchangeable parts. The different blocks of wood are cut very precisely, so the construction always works if put together properly. With a little imagination, it is easy to integrate foreign elements such as drums, bells or glasses to show additional effects. What might be considered a minus is that there is nothing to connect the parts to one another, which means that the power of the rolling marble hitting a block will displace it after some time, unless fortified by other blocks. On the other hand, you may also think of it as part of the learning experience.

Editing to say we enjoy this toy so much, especially now that the littlest one is 2 1/2 and we don't have to worry about him swallowing marbles. Mostly he uses these as building blocks, making roadways, towers, and parking garages.

Now our five year old enjoys building the ball track. This is such a high quality toy. I would say this would be best for 6 and up, or younger with lots of adult participation. The wooden pieces are so nice and sturdy, they are very nice to hold and can be put together in infinte ways. This toy will help your child learn in a concrete way about physics, building, patience, motor skills, and so much more. I wish we had only such simple, sturdy, educational playthings in our home. Definitely an outstanding toy that will last for years and years.

I bought this for my 7 and 4 year old daughters for Christmas. They (and I) had a blast with it. Though I did need to help with the basic initial construction, my 7 year old added to and modified the track without any supervision. Both girls were very interested in testing the differences between the metal and glass marbles and figuring out what adjustments were needed to keep the marbles on the coaster track. And they were excited and proud to show off their double loop coaster to their mom and grandparents. I am an engineer by degree and think the exposure to basis physics principles in a fun way like this is a great way to get children engaged in trial and error and other scientific concepts. Other similar toys have led to frustration in the past as there may only be one proper way to construct. This set is very flexible and lends itself to creativity. Pieces are easy to assemble, seem to be very durable, and the track is flexible which helps in making minor adjustments easily. Plus the parts all fit in the nice supplied small durable box with a handle - making cleanup and storage easy.

The Skyrail Marble Run Roller Coaster was a birthday gift for my 9 year old son. He plays with it all the time, and makes his own designs with the track. This is a great toy for anyone who likes Physics.

We have played with this non-stop since Christmas morning!! More than any of the much more expensive presents. My 7 year old son started with the designs provided in the guide. Easy enough for him, intricate enough to keep Mom and Dad interested. He graduated to his "own" designs. I love this toy!! The small plastic pieces require adult supervision so as not to break them. Recommend the 250 pc over the 150!! We started with the smaller kit and immedialty had to order the larger one - OH what fun 400 pcs!!!

My five year old and I built the first designs together and since then he's been off and running, on his own when I'm not able to join him. He doesn't always build designs that work but that is actually a good thing, as now he's talking about how the marble didn't have enough momentum to make it through a dip in the track to the next high point. When I initially saw all of the smaller pieces, I worried that it would be too fragile for a 5-year old but the pieces are bendable and so fairly forgiving of structures falling over. I suppose eventually they'll accumulate damage, but I anticipate we'll get a lot of use before that happens.

My husband and I have both had a lot of fun with this toy too--it is easy and fun building really cool roller coasters with loops, spirals, crossing paths and lots of twists and turns.

My only complaint: I wish the blue, circular bases that support the track were heavier or designed so that they could be weighted with sand. As taller supports are built, they have a tendency to tilt and become unstable. We've solved this by using our wooden blocks to weigh them down.
